A $ after a chord lists its members from the bottom up.
$3puts the third in the bass, with the other members above it.- A longer list spreads or doubles members:
$1-5-3,$1-1-3-5. 'lifts a member an octave.- Naming a member the chord does not have makes it unplayable.
